CitySDK
As part of the European project CitySDK the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences is working together with the City of Amsterdam, the Waag Society and eight European partner cities towards improving the accessibility and application of data in the Mobility, Tourism and Participation sectors. Our focus in this project is on tourism. Within this subfield, we ensure that information about interesting places and events in Amsterdam is made publicly available.
Additionally, we are researching the potential to creating dynamic data that would have added value for tourists. A study of dynamic data is being carried out in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum. Part of the study involves the development of sensors that measure the queue at all times of the day and relays this information to the CitySDK platform, where it is then made freely available to the general public. As a result, the Van Gogh Museum acquires improved insight into their waiting times, simultaneously permitting tourists to plan their visits more effectively.
