03-03-2016
On February 23rd 2016, Glimworm and the Digital Life Lab organised the IoT Olympics @ the Oosterpark. The IoT Olympics, an initiative by Glimworm, is a series of events for the IoT community. In workshops to create new concepts around a healthy and active lifestyle using the Internet of Things.
On the IoT Olympics@ the Oosterpark meet up, Digital Life researcher Joey van der Bie (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) presented together with Info.nl the BAMBEA project and the smartphone app Ooster Hunt. Ooster Hunt, commissioned by Info.nl and developed by students of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, is an app that motivates people to move with Bluetooth iBeacons. The app lets you hunt for beacons using puzzles and tactile feedback.
The students of the Ooster Hunt project weren’t the only students at the IoT Olympics. During the event students of the minor Intelligent Environments participated in developing new concepts to motivate people to move in the Oosterpark using beacons. In following IoT Olympics workshops these concepts will be further developed towards products.
