Foxfit - the app to stimulate children with asthma to move - proudly presented

23-07-2019

In the last three months before Summer our researcher Annette Brons, who works at the research group Digital Life at the Amsterdam University of Applied Science, was frequently asked to speak about the successful app Foxfit, for the time being specifically intended for children with asthma to stimulate them to move.

Two meetings we mention in particular.

On Saturday May 18. 2019 Annette presented the app Foxfit during the Congress 'Children on the move: together our care!' at the Faculty of Movements, Sports and Nutrition, also part of the Amsterdam University of Applied Science. Motive: children are increasingly lagging behind in their locomotive development. There are also children who are hindered by physical chronic conditions in their movement. These kids are of our common concern.

The target audience for this meeting particularly consisted of professionals such as teachers in physical education, internal school mentors, physical therapists, doctors, remedial therapists for youth, occupational therapists, psychomotor therapists and rehabilitation doctors.

One month later, on Friday June 21., Annette was guest speaker at the annual Fitkids Conference, held at the KNVB Campus in Zeist. Fitkids is the fitness and exercise program for children from six to eighteen years old with a chronic illness, limitation or long-term disorder. Also at this meeting the feedback at the app Foxfit was very positive.

Fitkids is one of the consortium partners, which are part of the Simba research project which also includes the development of Foxfit.
